Billionaire Woman: How To Find The Opportunities Among The Possibilities

  • Daniel Richard · 9 months ago
A trick I used to stay focused is to verbally mention (usually jokingly in a conversation) a reverse engineered result-to-action sentence, and then just go on and do it. Eg: for every dollar we spend, we should make thirty dollars. Serious. :)

I never thought of doing that before. It's quite a handy trick. No one seems to mind, since you're saying it jokingly right?

I had my moment of clarity while on vacation last year. I think there were two essential ingredients to the clarity: getting away from home/work and reading "Your Money or You Life". During that trip, I decided that I wanted to become financially free. I wanted a way of keeping myself accountable and a way to track my progress. That was the initial motivation for my blog.

    Good stuff!

That's so awesome Dustin, thanks for sharing your story. I think going on vacation is one of those times where we can disconnect from our day-to-day and see things for what they really are.

My trip to China helped me with that, but I didn't find clarity then. Mostly because I kept telling myself that I would figure everything out after I came back!

I think we could coin a new term here: Possibility Pollution.

If you're anything like me, then you have certainly been a victim of this phenomenon, and this article speaks right to me and my tendency to not want to "miss out" on something. So the result is that I do not stay fully focused on anything, on the opportunities.

This has been a real life-sucker for me, and I appreciate you addressing it and giving some ideas to overcome it.

I like that: Possibility Pollution. Maybe I should have you read my unpublished posts & help me come up with some of these terms. ;)

And oh boy, does the idea of not missing out affect us too!

    Hi Nathalie,

I love the analogy here - between the stars and how that relates back to clarity. In fact, it reminds me so much of a vacation we took last summer, out to "middle of nowhere" Idaho. Rafting for four days. No roads, no towns, about a dozen houses, and a few other rafters - that was it. And at night the sky was so amazingly bright from the stars. As I lay there in just my sleeping bag on a sandy beach, no tent, just looking up at the stars - I was amazed at how bright they were. And how it just made me realize that slowing and and getting away from the normality of daily life - allowed me to see things differently, things that had always been there (the stars physically, my own thoughts and dreams in a more mental/spiritual state) - but had been buried because of daily life.
This was such a positive force in my life - these four days, and really the nights, after everyone in camp went to bed - when I really became connected with those stars - and not just their light, but the light from within that they also represented.

So, Nathalie, this is a wonderful story - more than that, though, it's a story of a life lesson we all can hopefully learn...

Lance you have such a way with words, and your inner light shines brightly through to all of us who read your words.

I can totally relate to the "no towns, just a couple of houses" area, and what it can do to help you find clarity. I once brought my "cousins in law" to this same type of place, and they grew up in a big city in China. They were just in awe at being able to see the stars! I think it was also a transformational experience for them.

Thanks for sharing your transformational story.

Hi Nathalie. Fantastic! I loved the analogy you used with the stars. I am most clear when I'm either spending time out in nature, or visioning about my ideal situation. Visioning works well for me because it helps me to step out of the little box I have created and see my situation with a bird's eye view.
  • Nathalie Lussier · 9 months ago
That's awesome Davina! I hadn't considered visioning, but it's another great way of finding clarity. Thanks for sharing. :)

    An Interesting Story To Share!

I started internet marketing around 3 months ago whilst developing another business ready to launch, and whilst doing this my wife suddenly became interested on how marketing worked. Now consideration needs to be taken that she is/was in Catering Management and nothing to do with sales.

Anyway, my other business has now started and i have had to relax on the marketing and my wife has taken it on, so I have just let her get on with it. She had been quiet for a few weeks and decided to tell me that she had made a few hundred bucks over her last 8 days, and she claimed she would make $2000 by the end of her first month.

Now, she is at the end of her first month and she has pulled in a staggering $3100 in just 5 short weeks and with very little outlay. What she had done was find small holes in the market where she could talk about her job, what she did and how she supplemented her income by working online.

I' so thrilled that she has taken the bull by the horns and started running with the idea that you can make money online, it is simply more to do with having a PMA.

Girls, I will take my hat off to you and hope that you all end up as successful as my wife and happy in what you do. I started a site and she is now promoting it amongst her many blogs, forums etc thus creating no costs related to what she is doing.

If she carry's on like this, then I have no problem becoming a house husband for the rest of my life, I can tell you that for nothing!!!

    Best of luck.

Though I live in the a metropolitan area (Bay Area) I am lucky to have open space behind my home in the form of a large regional park (where they cant develop). Right now, the view of the bright green rolling hills, eucalyptus and redwood trees is breathtaking. Whenever I go there, my mind cleans itself out and new possibilities and ideas automatically come to me.

    Thank you for this reminder!

That sounds like a lovely place Carla. I loved the Bay Area, there were always tons of green spaces. :)

Too many people forget to take time for themselves and clear their heads. The more we re-evaluate what we are doing the quicker we'll learn!
  • Nathalie Lussier · 9 months ago
Thanks for stopping by Matt, and you're absolutely right: the more we re-evaluate the faster we can grow. :)

Hi Nathalie, I just finished writing an article on thinking from a place of unlimited potential (Stuck with Outside of the Box Thinking?)...which is possibly at odds with what you've just said here! But isn't that the paradox of life. The bottom-line at the end of the day as I see it is that we must make a decisive decision on our possibilities or opportunities and then stick to it. Sometimes a challenge! And that's where our mastery comes into play. Thanks for your article. Cheers, Veronica
