Billionaire Woman: How Getting Out of Line Can Get You To Your Financial Finish Line Sooner

  • John Rocheleau - Zen-Moments · 1 year ago
This is close to home for me. My living philosophy: the best things in life are free.

I know, it's cliche, but it is so true. It's not about giving thing up, but more about developing an enjoyment for the basics of life, and pursuing your dreams with that vision.

Wealthy in spirit is the best accomplishment we can aspire to.

    Go Nanawrimo.

I've never done it before, but I'm psyched up for this year. Congratulations on getting it done last year.

Nathalie, this is an awesome list of things you've done this summer! I'm especially impressed by your writing of novels - that's really cool!

This summer, my oldest son started disc golfing at our local park that has just put in a disc golf course. Free to use. All we needed were discs. I went out with him a couple of weeks ago, and I'm hooked! It's a lot of fun, it's relaxing, and it's a great way to spend time with others (in this case my family members). Perfect! And after reading here, I see this as an example of getting out of line and doing something different.

Great article on why we should do what we are passionate about. Like your trip to China, that sounds like it will be an amazing journey for you!

I love reading and also computers too. Would love to run but my knees can't seem to handle running. I don't know why.
Started to learn inline skating a few years ago, but never went enough to pick it up all that well. Maybe this fall I can get into it again.

    Great list!
My partner and I had a *lightening bolt* moment about 4 years ago and have slowly changed our spending habits and life.
We have totally dropped out of the whole consumerism lifestyle and haven't looked back!
We have saved a small fortune and in 4 short years have got to the point where I don't need to earn a really high income to survive.
It is a liberating experience to know we don't owe anything to anyone.
We now spend our free time doing and planning for things we really want to do.
The main thing here is discipline, if you can manage that then you will be successful.
Congratulations on a great list of achievements :)

@John: I couldn't agree more. It might be cliche, but there's a reason someone came up with it, right? ;)

@Writer Dad: You can totally do NaNoWriMo! There were times when I wasn't sure I was going to make it, but if you write every day it's not that bad.

@Lance: Thank you so much. I commend your learning of a new sport with your son. I think kids (or people who are young at heart) are great for getting us out and trying new things. Way to go!

@Simple Mindz: Inline skating takes a bit of practice, but it is well worth it, in my opinion. :)

@Ms. Penny Pincher: Way to go on changing your habits! I agree that it takes a flash moment sometimes to realize how much you consume. I'm so glad to hear you spend time doing things you really like, and not trying to keep up with the materialistic stuff. ;) Thank you, and stop by again any time!

    Love your read!

This year I have learned to seek out local organic and natural farmers in my community, I have made wonderful connections and learned to blog about this new venture. It has cost me mostly time, no problem since I'am retired.

BUT.... raising a family changed up my list continually, it has taken me along time to figure out what you have done in what seems to be a short time, good for you!!

Way to go Anna! I'm loving your discoveries, local and organic farming is the best, and wonderful connections are what it's all about.

I think it's never too late to learn new things or make a new list. You are an inspiration!

"If you spend less time and money shopping, you will have more time to do the things you love." Very true.

Wow, looks like you've had a BUSY summer. :)

Great article. Its too bad more people cannot look to shift away from consumerism to things that have more lasting impact in their lives. Even striving for that, its hard to make it a reality in today's materialistic world. Great article, full of ideas!
